Well that was a week that was. Quite a privilege to be at Hoylake to see McIlroy's start to finish win to become The Open Champion and take home the Claret Jug. Can’t believe I just made seven early morning starts and very late finishes and still feel OK, certainly the biggest event I have ever covered. Some great sporting moments and the chance to add some images of my favourite notable US Players, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Tom Watson and Tiger Woods to the portfolio. The Nikon Pro Services Team did a fantastic job cleaning and repairing my camera bodies and lenses, which have now seen a lot of use but are still going strong and a true testament to quality. NPS also provided a loan service that allowed me to try both the Nikkor 500mm & 600mm Telephoto Lenses, both of which are razor sharp and focus fast but do get a bit heavy carrying all day in the field. I will never complain about cross country days at Badminton or Burghley - for those that do I can now say “Well of course this is nothing compared to The Open”. But then again is there?
